Made from a combination of locally grown wool and high-quality, upcycled materials, these 100% cozy slipper socks are hand made by the Hazara women of northern Afghanistan and incorporate a stitched leather sole for indoor/light outdoor wear.
Modern Fiber’s trademarked Mukasuns take their name from the iconic “mukluk” design made famous by Arctic aboriginals, combined with the age-old concept of moccasins worn by indigenous cultures around the world. Our first exclusive line of Mukasuns was created by the Hazara tribespeople in Afghanistan and stand apart for their warmth, comfort, easy portability and hardy design – born from the rugged mountains, crisp nights and durability requirements of living in the Hindu Kush mountain range. Once the main body of the sock is woven, it’s finished with a locally tanned leather sole in a valley northwest of Kabul. You can’t get any more real than Muks, which are designed with care, created to bring your feet happiness.
